Who can apply to compete?

Applications are open to all persons 18 years or older by competition date.

What are the competitor divisions?

Amateur

Amateur competitors should have at least one year of pole experience and have strong inversions. They may or may not have previous competition experience. Competitors should be confident in execution of tricks and show full control throughout their performance. Competitors should demonstrate a variety of grips and movements.

Professional

Professional competitors should have previous competition experience and display solid execution of advanced combos. Competitors are expected to display a high level of mastery including pole and floor movement. This includes creative combos to ascend and descend the pole. Professional showmanship and a captivating stage presence are expected at this level.

When are applications due?

Applications are due by July 12, 2024.

What type of video should I submit?

Videos can be of a previous competition or filmed in a studio or home studio. Videos must be one continuous shot, in landscape format with the competitor’s body fully in frame. No edited videos will be accepted.

Videos must be titled: Competitor Name Division USPC SUBMISSION

Videos can be a maximum of 2 minutes in length. Videos longer than 2 minutes will not be viewed past the 2 minute mark. All videos will be viewed starting from the 0 minute mark, judges will not fast forward to any specified timestamp. Videos must be uploaded to YouTube and cannot be password protected.

Does my submission video need to be the same concept for my live performance piece?

It does not, you can submit a video that is different from your live performance concept.

How will video submissions be judged?

Video submissions will be reviewed by two professional judges using the USPC Scoring System. All video submissions will receive a scorecard and written feedback from the video judging panel. Judges may recommend a different level than the applicant originally submitted for. Video judges are financially compensated for their time.

Why is there a submission fee?

The submission fee is used to provide payment for the USPC Video Judges and Live Competition Judges, Medical Staff, Competition Emcee, venue rental (which includes insurance, lighting technician, sound technician, venue staff, and security), administrative support, and all other logistical fees.

Is there an additional fee if I am selected as a finalist?

There is no additional fee for finalists.

When will I know if I have been accepted into the competition?

All applicants will receive an email within two weeks after the submission deadline closes.

What happens if I am selected as a finalist?

If you are selected as a finalist, you will need to respond in the affirmative to your selection email and complete and submit your competitor agreement. Once you accept your spot, finalists will be announced on social media and added to the USPC website.

How long are finalist performances?

Each finalist is given 3 minutes and 30 seconds with a 10 second grace period. Maximum allowed performance time is 3:40.

Will there be professional photography/videography?

Yes. Photography and videography services will be provided by Knocking Bird Creative. Purchasing options will be sent to competitors once their spot has been confirmed.

Do you have medical staff and an AED machine at the live competition?

An EMT will be present at the live event with an AED Machine, Oxygen, and First Aid Kit. The competitor meeting prior to the event includes safety protocol and event procedures. A safety announcement will be made at the beginning of the event.
